Vitus 979 Road Frameset The Vitus 979 is a legend in the world of road racing, most notable for being one of the first to bring aluminum to the pro peloton in the 1980's. Utilizing bonding techniques borrowed from aircraft manufacturing, the 979 proved to be lighter than the competition without sacrificing durability. This particular frameset is a size 56cm. Based on the serial number of E126742 we believe it is a 1991 model. It's in great shape for its age, but has some scuffs and scratches from use, as well as fade marks in a few spots from where stickers once were (see photos). The seat tube also has two small dents (see photos). Overall, a beautiful example of a legendary frameset, perfect for those looking to build up a top-tier classic road bike.
