The fine item you are considering is a Vintage 1986 Bridgestone MB-2 Lugged Steel Mountain Bike MTB SZ Large. This cool made in Japan vintage mountain bike by Grant Peterson looks to me to be a 1986 from catalog shots that I’ve seen and the serial number starts with an “F6”, but I’m not sure on that date so please see my photos and decide for yourself. This is a large bike, with a stand over height of 32", measuring approximately 20” (51cm) from the center crank to the center of the seat tube/top tube junction (this would be small on your standard road bike, but the stand over height on this bike equates to more like a 55cm or 56cm road bike size) and 58cm center to center across the top tube. The bike looks to still have most, if not all, of its original equipment, with a Shimano Biopace crank, Shimano brakes and Araya RM-20 rims. The bike is in overall nice shape, showing typical wear with scuffing and scratching to the paint, but no cracks or dents. The covering on the saddle is sort of separating from the saddle body. The drive train will need a complete tear down, cleaning and lube, as the bike was ridden in a fine brown dusty dirt, and it’s made a mess of the drive train. The shifting sort of shifts and the crank sort of moves the back wheel, but the bike will need to have the brakes and drivetrain taken apart, cleaned and adjusted correctly and the chain may need to be replaced. No pedals are included. The tires, which look original, may still be serviceable, but you may want to put some fresh rubber on there. Yes, she’ll need some thorough cleaning and servicing, but the bones are good, and these vintage lugged steel Japanese Bridgestones have become almost legendary. Please see my photos to have a look at this nice item. Winning bidder/buyer pays $155.00 shipping and insurance in the contiguous U.S., plus $5.00 for packing materials (bubble wrap) with shipping to Alaska and Hawaii most likely costing more. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii, please contact me for a shipping estimate. Foreign bidders/buyers pay costs as per eBay's Global Shipping Program. Due to the large amount of items I now auction, I can unfortunately no longer allow in person pick up of items. My return policy is that returns are only accepted if I made a mistake in the listing, not disclosing a serious issue with the item, in other words, if the item is substantively different than as described in my listing. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding/buying!
