Build- With its plus-size tires, the Karate Monkey can handle any terrain with ease. You can go down just about anything or up just by lowering the tire pressure a tad. The tires also provide a smooth ride on long journeys or commutes, with little rolling resistance on pavement. The bike comes with a Fox Float 34 front fork, making it a beast to take mountain biking on some single track or to the local bike park. The Shimano Deore groupset and components are rock-solid and built to last. Bike will ship with new Deore XT 11-46T Cassette. The bike also comes with an additional Surly Karate Monkey rigid fork. The bike is built with a custom wheelset, featuring 27+ WTB scraper rims laced to White Industries XMR plus hubs. The tires are Schwalbe G-One All Around 27.5x 2.8 650b, with less than 100 miles ridden. The custom bike-packing bags are made of waterproof X Pac fabric featuring YKK waterproof zippers, an internal divider, and CAD fit. The bags were specifically designed for this bike, with custom fabrics and hardware. The set includes a front Carridice style bag, middle full frame bag, and rear seat post bag. The bike fits me well, as I am around 5’8’ with a 29” inseam, but I would say I am about the minimum height/inseam for the bike. The seatpost is a Thompson masterpiece elite dropper in bronze, and the seat is a Selle Anatomica X1 in oxblood w/ gunmetal rivets. There are a couple of cosmetic scuffs on the seat. The stem is a Thompson elite X4 60 x 3, 1.8 made in the USA black, and the headset is a Chris king grip lock black no threadset. The cockpit includes Surly Sunrise handlebars, Ergon GA3 grips, a wolf tooth light action dropper lever, Shimano Deore XT hydraulic brake levers, and a Shimano Deore XT shifter 11 speed. The pedals are Crankbros Candy I Premium Blue. This bike is ready to go on any adventure you have in mind.
