This listing is for a Co-Motion Periscope Torpedo tandem bicycle. This is the perfect tandem bike for biking BOTH with your wife (or husband!), but also with your kids - the telescoping stoker seatpost grows with them !
This bike might be family-friendly, but it is also a FAST performance bike. Equipped with only top-level components, this is a much better setup than the configuration that Co-Motion currently puts on this bike for 4,995$
- Shimano Ultegra 10spd Triple shifters with Flightdeck computer. In particular, the bike computer provides very useful gear and cadence information.
- FSA Gossamer 30/39/52 cranks. 172.5mm standard arm length in front, 165mm stoker arm length, with extra drilling at 130mm, perfect for the kids !
- Shimano XTR 11-36 10spd cassette and XT rear derailleur. With a lowest gear of 30 front / 36 rear, you're ready to climb mountains (I took my 7y old son on ~13% steep climbs!)
- Wheels built with DT 540 hubs and Velocity Dyad 40h rims, these wheels are bombproof. Schwalbe Marathon Plus 700x35 tires.
- Sram BB7-road DISC BRAKES with 203mm rotors. The large rotors provide for some serious braking power !
- And of course, the best headset on the market, from Chris King.
The captain position fits like a 54cm frame, with a 54.5cm virtual top tube (see the last image for the whole geometry table) - let us know what stem length you prefer, we'll try to find one with a close dimension. The captain seat and pedals are not included. The Shimano Flightdeck computer and rear rack ARE included. We'll also include a Topeak frame pump that fits nicely with the pump peg.
