Vintage Schwinn Super Le Tour 12.2 ca. 1977. Built by Panasonic in Japan. Lugged 4130 double butted tubing. Nice lug work and dropouts. 62cm seat tube measured c-t-c, 64cm c-t-t. ~56cm top tube. This is a large bike for people at least 6 feet tall. A beautiful classic lugged steel 10 speed. Largely original parts, including the beautiful "LeTour" crankset by Takagi. Updates include the Brooks B17 saddle and brand new Panaracer Pasela gumwall tires. Was recently disassembled, cleaned and regreased. Wheels trued, bottom bracket overhauled, all appropriate adjustments made. Brakes and shifts great. Rolls super nicely. Condition is excellent. Paint is in wonderful shape, with a few scratches, most notably on the non drive side chainstay. Chrome is bright and shiny. Bar tape has some small scuffs. Wheels have a small bit of cosmetic tarnish in places, could possibly be polished out with some effort. Saddle is well worn, was ridden many thousands of miles. A little soft, I thought about lacing the skirt up, like the Imperial models. Still looks nice with a solid patina, and should provide some more happy miles to a new rider. A classic road machine for a classy gent! Attracts tons of attention thanks to the eyecatching cherry bomb paint!A true joy to ride.
