To calculate the requirements for your motorcycle, add the weight of the carrier to your motorcycle, then multiply that number by 10 to factor for tongue capacity. Follow this example to calculate the minimum required towing capacity for hauling a 250 lb. dirt bike with a Max carrier. 250 lbs. (Motorcycle) + 60 lbs. (Carrier) = 310 lbs. 310 lbs. (Net Weight) x 10= 3,100 lbs. (Minimum Required Towing Capacity) Additional Examples:
300 lb. scooter = 3,600 lbs. minimum required towing capacity for vehicle.
400 lb. motorcycle = 4,600 lbs. minimum required towing capacity for vehicle.
