Up for sale are late 60's Heathkit Bonnie Bike direct
replacement clutch springs. These
springs are made from quality heat treated piano wire formed to the original
OEM specifications. Please note that due to the nature
of how these springs are utilized, the spring is void of any warranty and
cannot be returned if broken. Proper
usage when engaging the spring is to 'Stop motion of minibike, shift, start
motion of minibike' when changing between 'Hi & Low' gears. Heathkit was founded in 1926 in Saint Joseph, Michigan as a
subsidiary of the Heath Company - they sold light aircraft kits. But they
didn't hit their peak until after World War II, when they offered electronic
kits such as oscilloscopes. In 1968, they got into the minibike craze with the
GT-18, which was marketed as the "Boonie Bike". The Boonie used a 206cc, 5 horsepower Briggs & Stratton motor
and was capable of 30 miles per hour thanks to a 2-speed transmission. The bike
had an optional "Ski Accessory" that you could attach onto the front axle and wheel. Please contact me with any questions on the springs. I also manufacture the smaller rectangular clutch springs that posting shortly.
