After leaving Cook Brothers Racing, Craig Cook started making Cook Designs frame sets. According to Craig (a friend since 3rd grade), he built around 60 of these frames. They were designed for mountain bike racing, so they are fairly stiff and utilize oversized "true-tempered, butted," tubing. He only built up two frames for a couple of team riders who tested the bikes at one of the Mammoth Mountain down hills -- and they
held up very well. The two-tone paint is clear-coated to protect the
transfers and give an overall professional quality look. An up or down-pull front
derailleur can be fitted. The down pull was popular in the
late 80’s. This frame currently has the more modern up-pull arrangement. The frame is signed by Craig Cook and he will verify with a letter of authenticity if desired.
