New World eBikes is the exclusive importer of Gepida to the USA market. This electric bike will work wonderfully as a trekking or commuter bike. Shipping is a flat $99 to a commercially-zoned address (your work or picked up at a terminal). The Gepida Alboin 1000 Alfine 8 is a premium European made front-suspension pedelec trekking and commuting bike. With the Bosch Performance e-bike drive system it has 63 Nm of torque, providing assistance up to 20 MPH through the Alfine 8-speed Internal Gear Hub (IGH). In "turbo" mode the drive system provides up to 275% of additional power beyond the input from the rider to help you conquer the steepest hills. Exceptional range can be obtained at the 50% "eco" assist level, easily beyond 50 miles depending on terrain. Two other power levels are provided between eco and turbo. Shimano Deore 160mm hydraulic disc brakes provide smooth stopping performance and minimal servicing. The Alboin 1000 is also fitted with a suspension front fork for a smooth ride. Gepida bicycles have been produced in Budapest by Olimpia Bicycle since 1993. Gepida was one of the earliest bicycle companies to work with the e-bike concept and employed a Research and Development team in 2006. As good visibility is a key element of safe cycling, we always make sure our bikes are equipped with the best available lights, reflectors and reflective panels to ensure visibility from all angles on the road. Hydroforming This special die forming technology is used to form our unique aluminum frames using a high-pressure hydraulic fluid. The technology allows the aluminum tubes to be shaped into lightweight, stiff, and aesthetic pieces. Optimized rigidity The optimal rigidity is a very important factor of the modern aluminum frames. It can be achieved with our Hydroforming Technology to ensure our frames are stiff and rigid but still remain comfortable. Comfort geometry Optimized frame geometry that keeps riders in a comfortable and relaxed riding position for longer periods of time. Our bikes are also equipped with some of the most comfortable accessories available on the market, such as comfort grips and saddles to ensure the most ergonomic design.
