Benotto Model 3500 Bicycle Frame set PLEASE READ EVERYTHING< Its long sorry, WE DO NOT TAKE RETURNS. Made from Columbus Tubing (SL or SLX)(The chomred fork has an SLX Steerer) with very nicely Chromed seat and chain stays < The model 3000s are chromed up to right below the brake bridge and the chainstays are mostly chromed but these seat stays are chromed to the caps, including the brake bridge . The chainstays are the Diamante (diamond shaped), something that purportedly came from De Rosa. One of Benottos Builders in Mexico even went to Italy to train under De Rosa, raul Garza. Lots of legend, few facts. There are a lot of rumors of whether frames were built in Mexico or Italy. They certainly had some contract builds made in Italy, while production was concurrently being done in Mexico. It wasnt abig deal to have one of the many master builders in Italy make production bikes for your company. Many of the American brands used the Billato brothers and bunch of other lesser known builders in Italy (but not lesser builders by any stretch). Many of the Italian Brands also purportedy used Italian contract builders, Camilotto comes to mind. Many of whom probably stayed busy building high quality bikes for the big brands for a myriad of reasons, perhaps due to being purposely incognito and not having to self promote or brand themsleves. I would also guess it was good business to keep these contract builders busy so as to not have to compete with more master builders. Mosty conjecture but, were not all wanting to brand and promote ourselves and not all of we humans are competitive. Some just want to do what they want to do without all the "business" stuff, perhaps artists loving the craft vs the accolades. I know hard to imagine in our culture. Anyway. We have a few Simoncini built Benotto frames in the store that were made for Benotto in Italy and never sold. Perhaps a potential partnership on a new frame or a test run on something that didnt pan out? There are quite a few differences in the higher end models, the 5000s are very different from each other, We have several and the cable routing, brazeon parts, and seat stay attachmenets are different on most of them. This one has a nice tapered and chromed brake bridge as wel as internal cable routing on the top tube that is different than the model 5000s< this is actually nicer and a more traditional recessed. This was never painted from Benotto, only preppeed, chromed and put away. Its a not a stripped frame, its never seen a wheel in the dropouts. The coolest part about this is you can see the nice brazing, you can also paint whatever color you want The 3500 is not a catalogued model, Ive only seen a couple others, one of which was fully chromed. Like any other company in the bike busioness, they were constantly improving and designing new concepts, new models. We have a few aero road and track frames that are either completely oval or multishaped(columbus MS) tubing. A few of these are still raw as they were concepts during a changing time in the industry. Also has the heart cutout in the BB Shell, its slightly different and cleaner than most 55cm x 55.5cm center to center measurements Rear Spacing is 127MM Another enigma KNOW THAT YOURE BUYING AN UNKNOWN, UNCATALOGUED, PROBABLY 1 OFF BIKE THAT NO ONE REALLY KNOWS THE STORY ON. Will be shipped, probably bike flights, fork removed from the frame. IF YOU HAVE A SHIPPING ISSUES WITH YOUR LOCATION, PLEASE QUESTION AHEAD OF TIME. IF YOU BUY IT AND THEN START ASKING FOR THINGS AND HAVING ISSUES, WE WILL CANCEL THE SALE.
