The Bafang mid-drive BBSHD 1000w motor mounts in place of your bike's bottom bracket and replaces your bike's crankset and front derailleur if you have one.

The Bafang 1000W Mid-Drive Motor is superior to both Rear and Front Hub Motors because it offers a balanced low center of gravity. On a standard bike, the weight of the motor is balanced directly in the middle of the bike down in your bikes bottom bracket. This allows for a better riding experience with a balanced low center of gravity with this motor located in your bike's bottom bracket.
Throttle and Pedal Assist Power
The Bafang BBSHD 1000W Motor offers both throttle and pedal assist power. You can always use the throttle in order to engage the motor if you want to take a break from pedaling!
