This bike is a rocket and can do it all.
Lightweight, tough, versatile, fast.
I have used it to get to the trails, ride all trails except the toughest ones, train on pavement, ride on snow with 3 inch tires, anything you throw at it. It rides like a tank on diet.
Has $1500 wheelset on it.. in my opinion one of the all-time best 27.5'' wheelsets: Roval Control SL 38
… carbon, ID 38mm.. straight pull spokes, DT swiss hub 240 internals, 54t bullet proof ratchet, heavy duty yet weighing only at 1657g; it is paired with lightweight 27.5x3.0 Schwalbe Rocket Ron tires.
Front tire is good shape. Rear is maybe 40% thread left, so including brand new Rocket Ron 27.5x2.8 light skin tire. Condition:
Mechanically excellent… ready to ride; chain, cassette, crankset- all good and nothing is worn out. Chain is recently new and does not show any wear- not showing 0.5% which is the first notch on my chain checker tool.
There are multiple surface scratches- bike has been around, but nothing uncommon for MTB; no integrity issues.
Bike has some chain suck in the BB area. I applied 2x layer of heavy duty helicopter tape 2 years ago to prevent additional chain suck and there has not been single chain suck since… but some air has gotten under the top layer of the heli tape and it does not look too pretty … but is serves the purpose by protecting frame.
Protective Heli tape on bottom of downtube is also peeling in couple spots as seen in pictures; it could be trimmed easily but leaving in place to keep protecting. Setup:
