Bianchi, reportedly the earliest bike manufacturer still in business today! They have adjusted to the times and the needs of each decade , and have earned a loyal following. The 80's Bianchi bikes are true classics. The Bianchi Celeste color being one of the most memorable trademarks , reportedly was named after Princess Celeste (or Queen Celeste) for whom they designed and built a bike and painted Her Highness' bicycle this custom color and named it Celeste Green! This is a very nice frame (in need of a 1986 Mondiale fork. I'm being told that this is a 1986 Mondiale model by an E-bay Community Member. Thanks for your input, there is so little info about identifiers or serial numbers online! The fork should be slightly more yellow (rich) in color than today's Celeste Green and have a very slight frosting of blue pearl (as does this frame easiest to see in sunlight). The fork also should offer a recessed brake mount (as does this frame. There are no dings to the tubing (but the mark at the center of the top tube caused by a cable housing could be called a poc). There are a few areas of chips to the paint that go down to the metal. Most notably are the following: Chips on the right hand rear seat tube stay Worn off paint along the path of the rear brake cable (including where it turns in from the right to the cable guides Some missing paint around the bottom of the head tube lug (adjacent to where headset cup will fit) Dual chips under the seat tube lug apparently from a frame pump Also notably there are NO sweat mark spots on the bottom of the top tube.Often the sweat from a rider will remove paint and cause rust to the underside of the top tube on a vintage ride. If left unchecked this can ruin the bike (and this is not the case here).
