This is a used but good condition front wheel in the 16" ISO 349 size.It has a Sachs New Success cartridge bearing hub and a Sun rim. It is radially laced with 18 Wheelsmith stainless spokes, has a Fond de Jante / Velox rim strip, and a new Litepro quick release skewer.
Eyeball the photos of the braking surface and you can see that the wheel has had some use. Though the bulk of the wheel's life remains ahead. The wheel is true, and the Sachs cartridge bearings run buttery smooth.
Please note well: so-called "sixteen inch" wheels actually come in two different and incompatible sizes. The smaller size wheel has a 305mm bead seat diameter. It was used many years ago on the Bike E compact long wheelbase recumbent. The larger size 16" wheel has a 349mm tire bead seat diameter. It was used on various short recumbent bikes, such as the Vision, Lightning, etc. and is presently used on some folding bikes. I think the Brompton folding bike uses the ISO 349 16" wheel, but do not quote me on this.
Another thing to consider: some folding bikes (DAHON) use a front wheel hub that is narrower than the norm of 100mm over locknut. My wheel uses a hub with the common 100mm over locknut dimension. It will not work with a DAHON bike.
Buy the wrong size wheel for your bike and you will experience tears and the gnashing of teeth. Not sure what size 16" wheel your bike uses? Take it to a bike shop and get an expert opinion. Hint: the 16" ISO 349 wheel has a diameter - outside rim edge to outside rim edge - of a hair over 14". My wheel is the larger ISO 349 size.
I used it on my Lightning P38 bike.
Sorry to belabor this boring bike stuff, but you really need to make sure that you are buying the correct size wheel!
